About The Gardens

The Gardens offer a beautiful setting within the serenity of the Assiniboine River Corridor. Eleanor Kidd Gardens have many features including:

  • A Performance Plaza with a small stage and seating area for community arts performances
  • A Fountain Plaza, featuring a life-sized bronze sculpture of a doe and two fawns by local artist Peter Sawatzky
  • Numerous varieties of shrubs, trees, annuals and perennials including over 100 hanging baskets.
  • Eleanor Kidd Gardens are a floral showcase for our community, due to the commitment and partnership of the City of Brandon Parks Department and volunteers with the Brandon Garden Club. Thanks to their hard work throughout the summer, the hanging baskets and flowerbeds are in full bloom for you to enjoy.

Eleanor Kidd Gardens are open to the public at all times, however, individuals planning weddings, photos and family gatherings are to book the Gardens. There is a fee in place if you plan to book your event at Eleanor Kidd Gardens to partially cover costs of care and upkeep of the gardens to ensure their beauty for years to come. Please contact the Riverbank Discovery Centre at 204-729-2141 for rental availability or email dawn@riverbank.mb.ca.
